Introduced by the Arabs after the 13th century, they spread throughout Europe, probably starting from Sicily.
In Piedmont, Amaretti are available in many varieties and almost all of them are produced in the Asti and Alessandria area. The Amaretti from Acqui are mainly soft, handcrafted, with both sweet and bitter almonds, and apricot kernel.
The quest for the right balance between sweet and bitter has made our Amaretto one of the best in the Acqui area production.
